The Jaguars In Trouble

The Jacksonville Jaguars did not have the worst record in fantasy football game last season, but they have a very good chance of being the worst team in the league this season. The Kansas City Chiefs may have been worse with the sum of all their parts than they were individually (they still had a top five running back in Jamaal Charles, a bona fide number one wide receiver in Dwayne Bowe, and some very good defensive players like linebacker Derrick Johnson and safety Eric Berry). With a little bit of luck and the right calibration of the parts by new head coach Andy Reid, and the Chiefs could win seven or eight games in fantasy football games next season. The Jaguars do not have a collection good players who were never able to gel however.

They do have second-year wide receiver Justin Blackmon who they selected with the fifth overall pick in the draft last season out of Oklahoma State and he showed some promise towards the end of the season in fantasy football games. But beyond that, the Jaguars look like they are in real trouble. They need help on the defensive line, they need help in the secondary and their offensive line (despite Eugene Monroe) is not very good.

On top of that, the Jaguars have Blaine Gabbert at quarterback and on top of him suffering a season-ending shoulder injury a little over midway through last season, Gabbert has not shown that he is growing as a quarterback when he has been on the field. As he is going into his third season in the league, the Jags may feel that he is owed at least one more shot going into this season before they had to fold their hand on him and move on with someone new at the position.
